Cost estimate
A cost estimate for vehicle damage is a rough estimate of the expected repair costs. It provides an initial overview of the costs for spare parts, working time and other necessary measures to restore the vehicle. However, a cost estimate should not be confused with an expert report. While a cost estimate only offers financial guidance, an expert report goes much deeper into the matter. An expert report contains a precise analysis and assessment of the damage, often supported by technical data and images. It is of greater evidential value, especially in legal or insurance matters. Therefore, a cost estimate should be understood as a useful but less detailed cost estimate that does not offer the comprehensive expertise and precision of an expert report.
