Classic car appraisal
In order to officially register a vehicle as a classic car, a report is required. A thorough inspection not only examines the appearance and technology, but also determines the current market value. In addition to registering the classic car, the certificate can also be used as a basis for negotiating sales or insurance amounts.

What is the difference between a cost estimate and a damage report from a motor vehicle expert?A cost estimate (KVA) is simply a repair cost offer from a car repair shop. This only determines the expected repair costs. We as a car expert can also prepare a cost estimate. This is even advisable. This allows us to determine directly whether the damage is minor or not. A damage report is much more comprehensive and also serves to preserve evidence. In addition to determining the expected repair costs, a report also determines the commercial depreciation, replacement value and residual value of the vehicle involved in the accident. The expert also determines the expected repair time and the cost of a rental car. A report therefore contains all the information required to fully settle the damage with the opposing party's liability insurance.

Who can commission a motor vehicle expert to assess my accident damage? You can commission an expert to prepare a report at any time. The only question is who will pay for it. In the case of liability damage, i.e. if you are the injured party, the costs must be borne by the other party or their liability insurance. This also applies if the opposing insurance company has already commissioned its own expert. If you are the injured party or if you are partially at fault, the opposing insurance company does not have to cover the costs or only partially.

Who pays the costs of the motor vehicle expert for preparing an accident report? The costs for preparing a damage report are covered by the opposing party's liability insurance in the event of a traffic accident that was not your fault. The liability insurance can only refuse to cover the costs in cases where the damage does not reach the minor damage limit of EUR 750.00, as a cost estimate is sufficient for this. If the accident damage is less than EUR 750, we will provide you with a cost estimate. This must also be paid by the person who caused the damage or their liability insurance.

Who pays the legal fees?It depends on whether you are the person who caused the damage or the person who suffered the damage. In the case of an accident that was not your fault, you have the right to hire a lawyer to claim the damages suffered from the opposing party's liability insurance. In this case, the opposing party's liability insurance must cover the costs. The amount of the damage is also irrelevant.
